U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Mongolia Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh in Washington, the U.S. Department of State reports.
Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Battsetseg discussed steps to advance U.S.-Mongolia ties and further strengthen the Strategic Third Neighbor Partnership.
The Secretary and the Foreign Minister also launched the U.S.-Mongolia Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue, which highlighted the deepening strategic cooperation between the two countries, including on economic growth and energy, democracy and human rights, and educational and cultural exchanges.
“Mongolia has really been an oasis for democracy in the region, and together we are building even greater economic resilience, strengthening rule of law, and looking for ways to lift up the well-being of our people,” the Secretary of State noted.
The Foreign Minister stated that this is the first high-level visit between two countries since the new government of Mongolia was elected and since the sides established strategic trade and Strategic Partnership.
“I’m looking forward for fruitful discussion in all spheres, and especially we will talk detail about our communication and trade cooperation,” she added.
