Turkmen-Mexican political consultations were held via videoconference

 The first political consultations between Turkmenistan and the United Mexican States were held via videoconference, with the participation of the heads of the structural divisions the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.

The agenda included a wide range of issues, including discussions of ways to build partnerships in key areas such as energy, trade, economics, agriculture, education, culture and sports.

Particular attention was paid to interaction within international structures, in particular the UN. In this context, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to building up multilateral partnerships.

Focusing on issues of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, the parties considered the prospects for establishing contacts between business circles.

In addition, issues of cultural exchange were discussed, including the possibility of implementing joint programs and organizing events.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of establishing ties between specialized higher education institutions – The Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan and The Matias Romero Institute of Diplomacy Studies under the MFA of Mexico.

Continuing the theme of interstate cooperation, emphasis was placed on the importance of establishing bilateral inter-parliamentary contacts.

It was proposed to hold the next political consultations next year in Ashgabat.
