Turkish foreign minister, UN chief discuss efforts for grain exports from Ukraine

Cavusoglu, Guterres also evaluate developments in Ukraine, humanitarian aid to Syria.

Efforts to secure grain exports from war-hit Ukraine were on the agenda on Thursday in a phone call between Türkiye’s foreign minister and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

During the call, Mevlut Cavusoglu and Guterres also evaluated developments in Ukraine and humanitarian aid to Syria, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

In another phone call, Cavusoglu congratulated his newly appointed Slovenian counterpart Tanja Fajon on her post, the ministry added.

During the talk, bilateral relations and developments in Ukraine were also discussed.
