Representatives of railway departments from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China and Georgia have agreed at a meeting in Beijing to increase transportation volumes along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor), Report informs referring to a statement from Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ).
“In Beijing, the management of KTZ Express (a subsidiary of KTZ), together with representatives of railways from China, Georgia and Azerbaijan, participated in an expert meeting on TITR,” reads the report.
According to KTZ, the meeting summarized the route’s performance in 2024, discussed implemented projects, and plans for the next year. “Special attention was paid to plans for further development of TITR. During negotiations, the parties agreed to increase transportation volumes along TITR. Agreements were reached to increase the number of container trains departing from China via TITR to four per day, which is twice the current rate,” the information states.
Additionally, to improve the efficiency and transparency of logistics processes along the route, the parties discussed the possibility of developing a unified digital platform for tracking and managing cargo flows.
