Shots fired to disperse crowd, according to Anadolu Agency reporter on the ground.

ANKARA (AA) – Afghans on Saturday started gathering near the military entrance gate of Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport, hoping to get out of the war-torn country as a number of countries continue to evacuate their citizens and diplomats.

According to Anadolu Agency’s Sayed Khodaverdi Sadat, shots were fired to disperse the people from the area, where they reached after staying at the main entrance for two days.

The unexpected power grab by the Taliban earlier this week has triggered a rush to flee Afghanistan as many fear retribution.
