In recent years, bilateral relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Slovenia, as well as Slovakia, have been steadily developing, particularly in the field of culture. Such cooperation serves the fundamental interests of the peoples of these countries, contributes to the expansion and strengthening of interstate relations, supports the establishment of universal human values, and enriches the cultures of both nations.
In particular, cultural cooperation with these countries has recently gained new content and forms. It has become more active due to practice-oriented projects, and based on the achievements and promising plans in the field of cultural cooperation, the friendly relations between the two states are further expanding.
As a result of political consultations between representatives of Uzbekistan and Slovakia, a draft agreement on cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture between the two countries is being prepared. Similarly, a draft agreement is also being developed between the governments of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Slovenia for cooperation in these fields.
Representatives of Slovenia and Slovakia actively participate in several prestigious international cultural events held in Uzbekistan every two years.
Notably, they have taken part in the “Sharq Taronalari” International Music Festival in Samarkand, international forums on maqom art in Shahrisabz and Zomin, the “Lazgi” International Dance Festival in Khiva, and international festivals of bards. Within the framework of these events, Slovenian and Slovak participants have organized concerts, scientific and educational presentations, and cultural exchanges.
In addition, Uzbek artists and cultural figures have been actively participating in international cultural events, forums, and festivals held in Slovenia and Slovakia.
Efforts are ongoing to further expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture, education, and science in the future.
Mutual cooperation between the parties plays an important role in preserving and developing traditional cultural ties, including the exchange of experience in theater, music, visual arts, pop and circus arts, cinema, and the protection and use of historical and cultural monuments.
