Naryn Region Seeks to Develop Cooperation with Azerbaijan

Kyrgyzstan’s Naryn region has expressed interest in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan. This was stated by Kyrgyz Ambassador to Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikhail Jabbarov, Trend news agency reported on Wednesday, citing the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry. During the meeting, Mamytkanov proposed the establishment of cooperation between the regions of the two countries and suggested starting this process from the Naryn region. The sides also discussed other issues related to bilateral economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. In particular, they focused on the functioning of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund, which is the main instrument of economic relations between the two countries. During the meeting, special attention was paid to the implementation of “green” projects, especially in the field of hydropower. The sides emphasized their determination to develop and deepen bilateral economic cooperation based on mutual benefit.
