Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OSTS) Kubanchbek Omuraliev is on a working visit to Mongolia from March 18-22 upon the invitation of Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh. During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation between Mongolia and the CSTO and regional issues were discussed.
The meeting focused on the steps to be taken to increase cooperation between the two sides in the economic, cultural and educational fields. Foreign Minister Battsetseg expressed Mongolia’s determination to strengthen its relations with the CIS. Secretary General of the CIS Ömüraliyev emphasized the importance of Mongolia in the region and stated that the CIS is willing to further develop cooperation with Mongolia. Ömüraliyev emphasized the need to implement joint projects, especially in areas such as trade, tourism and cultural exchange. Regional security and stability issues were also discussed during the meeting. The two sides agreed on the need to continue joint efforts to ensure peace and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
