Minister of Education of Mongolia Naranbayar Purevsuren received Ambassador of the Czech Republic Jan Vytopil to discuss ways to further expand cooperation in education on November 7, Montsame reported.
Currently, there are 13,569 Mongolian citizens officially registered residing in the Czech Republic, among whom 2,178 are studying at various levels of educational institutions. In addition, 29 Mongolian students are studying in the country under the 2024 President’s Scholar- 2100 Scholarship Program.
As part of the 2019 Agreement between the Ministries of Education of Mongolia and the Czech Republic, short-term exchange programs for teachers, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as researchers, have been successfully implemented.
With the support of the Czech Embassy in Mongolia, a Czech language instructor began teaching at the Department of Slavic Studies at the National University of Mongolia. Furthermore, Mendel University in Brno of the Czech Republic is working in partnership with the Mongolian University of Life Sciences to train specialists in forestry.
Minister of Education Naranbayar Purevsuren supported Ambassador Jan Vytopil’s proposals to increase the quota for teacher and student exchange programs, boost the number of Mongolian students studying Czech, and update resources and guidance for Czech students interested in studying at Mongolian universities.
Furthermore, the two sides expressed their commitment to further deepen and actively expand their cooperation in the future.
