Japan provides over $100M in aid to Afghanistan

Japan provided $106 million in aid to Afghanistan, the Taliban spokesperson Abdul Qahar Balkhi said, Report informs.

He noted that the Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi had thanked the Japanese Government for the aid.

For his part, Japanese Ambassador Okada Takeshi said that Japan will exercise its powers as a member of the UN Security Council from next year and will try to play a positive role in this UN body regarding Afghanistan.

The Japanese embassy resumed its work in Kabul in October.
