Honorary Consulate of Kyrgyzstan opens in Japanese city of Yaizu

The Honorary Consulate of Kyrgyzstan was ceremoniously opened in the city of Yaizu, with a consular district that includes the prefectures of Aichi, Fukui, Gifu, Ishikawa, Nagano, Shizuoka, Toyama, Yamanashi, and Niigata in the Chubu region, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Honorary Consulate is headed by Michinori Yotsuhashi. The opening was attended by Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Japan Erkinbek Osoev and representatives of Japan’s business community.

Osoev congratulated Michinori Yotsuhashi and emphasized the special significance of the Honorary Consulate’s work in strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries, expanding economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, as well as providing support to compatriots living in the Chubu region.

Michinori Yotsuhashi expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and stressed that he would make efforts to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens and facilitate the development of economic and cultural-humanitarian relations between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.

During the event, they also met with the Mayor of Yaizu, Hiromichi Nakano. The ambassador highlighted areas for deepening partnership: in education and science, innovation and tourism, strengthening business and cultural ties, and developing economic diplomacy.

Mayor Hiromichi Nakano expressed readiness for close cooperation and the implementation of joint projects to enhance interaction in the field of human resources and overall bilateral relations.
