Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and China hold talks

Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and China Jeenbek Kulubayev and Wang Yi held a meeting in China.

The event was held as part of the 5th meeting of Foreign Ministers in the China-Central Asia Format.

The Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and China discussed the development of cooperation, noting the importance of implementing joint projects in agriculture, energy, processing industry, transport and the banking sector, as well as optimizing the work of the Irkeshtam and Torugart checkpoints.

The Foreign Ministers of the two countries emphasized the importance of starting the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway as part of the Belt and Road initiative, and noted the successful opening of the new Bedel checkpoint.

Kulubayev noted the growth of Kyrgyz exports to China in 2024 and the importance of further increasing them. They also discussed the need to create conditions for mutual travel of citizens and cooperation within the UN, SCO and the Belt and Road initiative.
