Foreign Minister Saidov hosts new UNDP Resident Representative

The Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov today hosted the new resident representative of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Akiko Fujii.

“Glad to welcome the new United Nations Development Programme Resident Representative in Uzbekistan H.E. Akiko Fujii today at the Foreign Ministry. Greatly value UNDP’s continuous support of the comprehensive reform agenda in Uzbekistan. We agreed to cooperate closely to create the best conditions for sustainable development in our country. Wish Madam Fujii all the success in her future endeavors,” the Minister Saidov wrote on his Telegram channel.

Japanese Akiko Fujii, who has been working in the UN system since 1996, was appointed to replace Matilda Dimovska, who served as the permanent representative of UNDP in Uzbekistan in 2019-2023.
