Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubayev received Director of the Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Ruslan Mirzayev. During the meeting, regional security, counterterrorism and cooperation within the SCO were discussed. Kulubayev emphasized Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to ensure regional security and stability, noting the importance of the SCO’s role in this area. He stressed the need to strengthen cooperation among the SCO member states in the fight against terrorism, extremism and organized crime. Kulubayev said that Kyrgyzstan will continue its active participation in the activities of the SCO RATS and will continue to support the work in this area. Ruslan Mirzayev emphasized that SCO RATS is an important platform for joint struggle against security threats in the region. Mirzayev praised Kyrgyzstan’s experience in counter-terrorism and regional security issues, noting that cooperation should be increased, especially in areas such as information sharing, joint operations and training programs. New projects and initiatives to ensure security and stability among SCO member states were also discussed during the meeting. The sides agreed to carry out joint work on counter-terrorism and counter-extremism.
