For the first time ever, Tashkent will be host the M360 GSMA Eurasia Summit in May 2025. The Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov took up this symbolic baton at the summit held in Qatar on November 18-19, the press service of the ministry said.
The M360 Summit Series is a global telecommunications event organized by the GSMA Association (GSMA). They are divided by region – MENA (the Middle East and North Africa), APAC (Asia-Pacific), LATAM (Latin America) and Eurasia. These platforms are designed for interaction between players in the mobile industry. “Top managers in mobile and related industry verticals come to discuss their problems and successes, as well as communicate with colleagues,” the event website says.
A Memorandum of Understanding on holding M360 Eurasia in Tashkent on May 20-21, 2025, was signed on the sidelines of the summit by the leadership of M360 GSMA, the Ministry of Digital Technologies and Beeline Uzbekistan, the company’s press service said.
“We are pleased to welcome the global system that unites the entire mobile communications industry to Tashkent, which has always been at the center of business ties in our region, and to host the M360 Eurasia conference. Uzbekistan has big plans for digital transformation, which are not only aimed at the development of our country, but will also help accelerate the economic growth of Central Asia as a whole,” said Sherzod Shermatov.
“M360 Eurasia is one of the most important regional platforms that unites our ecosystem to discuss growth opportunities through communications, digital services and technology. “As a group that drives digital transformation in the dynamic markets of Central and South Asia, we are honoured to partner with GSMA and the Ministry of Digital Technologies to bring this important event to Tashkent,” said Kaan Terzioglu, Chairman of Beeline Uzbekistan and CEO of VEON Group.
“Bringing M360 Eurasia 2025 to Tashkent for the first time is an important step in our commitment to advancing digital transformation in Central Asia. The event will explore new ways to use mobile communications to drive sustainable economic growth and digital inclusion, while providing a platform to advance innovation and collaboration in the region,” said Mats Granryd, CEO of GSMA.
The summit is expected to contribute to strengthening the positive image of Uzbekistan, attracting more companies and investors, and creating new opportunities for business, economic and social development.
