FM Kulubaev meets OSCE Chair-in-Office

Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with OSCE Chair-in-Office, Minister of Foreign, European Affairs and Trade of Malta Ian Borg.

“Minister Borg is visiting Kyrgyzstan as the OSCE Chair-in-Office. We highly value his decision to visit our country and the region,” FM Kulubaev said.

Jeenbek Kulubaev noted that the Kyrgyz side intends to continue cooperating with the OSCE and is ready to contribute to further strengthening of the organization. 

“Today we held meaningful negotiations on a broad range of cooperation issues between the Kyrgyz Republic and OSCE. In a friendly atmosphere, we discussed current issues on the agenda of Malta’s chairmanship in the OSCE,” FM Kulubaev said.

Kulubaev drew attention to strengthening and expanding the capabilities of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek and said the Kyrgyz side intends to continue providing the Academy with the necessary support.

Ian Borg noted that Kyrgyzstan is an active participant within the OSCE and expressed gratitude for the support provided to Malta’s chairmanship in the organization.

OSCE Chair-in-Office also appreciated the initiatives and efforts of Kyrgyzstan to promote mountain and climate change issues. He confirmed the OSCE’s interest in developing bilateral and regional cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia.
