First Deputy Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet Adylbek Kasymaliyev and Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan Nikolay Udovichenko discussed issues of cooperation between the two countries in the field of education. During the meeting, existing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia in the fields of education, science and culture was evaluated, while new projects and opportunities for the future were also discussed. Kasymaliyev said that Kyrgyzstan would like to benefit from Russia’s experience in modernizing the education system and bringing it in line with international standards. He also stated that work is underway to facilitate access of Kyrgyz students to Russian universities and to expand student exchange programs between the two countries. Ambassador Udovichenko emphasized that Russia will continue to support the development of Kyrgyzstan in the field of education. He noted that educational cooperation between the two countries provides opportunities not only for students, but also for teachers and academics. In particular, steps should be taken to increase joint research projects and scientific work, Udovichenko said. The sides also discussed issues such as teaching the Russian language in Kyrgyzstan and strengthening cultural ties between the two countries. The sides agreed to carry out joint work to further develop cooperation in these areas. This meeting is considered an important step for the future of educational and cultural cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Relations between the two countries are expected to deepen further in the fields of education and science.
