According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan news, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Office of the United States Trade Representative launched the Japan-U.S. Partnership on Trade. The overview of this framework is as follows.
This framework is a Director-General level framework for Japan-U.S. cooperation in the area of trade among the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Office of the United States Trade Representative. Director-General of Economic Affairs Bureau from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director General of Trade Policy Bureau from Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Japan will participate in this framework.
In this framework, we will discuss issues such as Japan-U.S. common global agenda in the area of trade, cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region as well as bilateral trade cooperation between Japan and the United States.
