European Union together with the government of Mongolia organizes high-level consultation workshop on the formulation of actions for the green sustainable development of Mongolia. Action framework for approximately 14 million euros will be developed and implemented following the consultation, the EU delegation to Mongolia reports.
Ambassador of the European Union to Mongolia Axelle Nicaise highlights the importance of partnership – ownership – impact of the outcome of this consultation to outline the future actions in green sustainable development.
“The European Union sees Mongolia as a key partner in bringing forward sustainable and green investments, and showcasing together that democracy associated with value-driven investments can deliver on the ground. We want to create strong and sustainable links between Europe, Mongolia and the world and build a new, greener and more sustainable future for the generations to come,” she notes in her opening speech.
The EU Multi-Annual Indicative Programme (MIP) for Mongolia for 2021-2027 is the partnership strategy aligned with Vision 2050 objectives and meeting the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development Goals. The EU prepares for the formulation of a large EU action of approximately 14 million euros grant for agriculture, forestry and Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sectors in Mongolia.
During the consultation, keynote speeches on the strategic vision of line-Ministries and national movements, “One Billion Trees”, “Food security, food supply” and “A Healthy Mongolian” were presented by Advisors to the President, Ministers and Vice Ministers. The high-level consultation was followed by technical consultation engaging with the key staff from Ministries, government stakeholders, international organizations, civil society and private sector representatives in identifying the areas that the new EU action could target.
