Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have signed an agreement on joint management of the Andijan reservoir, Report informs via Kun.uz.
At the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubayev, along with several important documents, an agreement was signed on the joint management of some parts of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyz state border and Andijan (Kampirabad) reservoir water resources.
Besides, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Water Management of Uzbekistan and the Water Management Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, the sides also talked about the upcoming state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan.
Discussions on the joint use of the Andijan reservoir have been ongoing since 1983. At that time, the reservoir was called Kampir Ravat.
