Uzbekistan could enter into 15-year gas deal with three countries

The perspectives of gas cooperation between Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan is 15 years, and a long-term cooperation agreement could be entered into in mid-2024, the CEO of Gazprom, Alexey Miller said this at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

“We are creating the basis of a long-term deal for our cooperation, we have set the horizon of cooperation with our colleagues from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan for 15 years. Based on the meeting and negotiations, we aim to create a basis for establishing 15-year cooperation with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan by the middle of 2024,” he said.

According to Miller, the economies of these countries are developing at a high rate, the parties are discussing the ways to further advance the Russian gas supplies, expand gas transportation capacities in Kazakhstan through the “Central Asia-Center” gas pipeline system. He added that this applies were not only to transit capacities, but also to the supply of Russian gas to consumers in these countries.
