Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Could Build New Railway Line

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan Saidikram Niyazkhojaev met with the Kazakh Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Marat Karabaev .

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of industrial cooperation projects, the expansion of cooperation in industry, transport and the military-industrial complex. The implementation of a railway project from Darbaza to Maktaaral station with a length of 106 km will allow unloading the Saryagash checkpoint.

The infrastructure projects were also discussed, in particular, the construction of a new Darbaza – Maktaaral railway line.

The implementation of the project will attract additional cargo traffic of up to 10 million tons per year, as well as connect the Maktaral district of the Turkestan region with the main railway line.

In addition, following the results of the negotiations, Marat Karabaev and Saidikram Niyazkhojaev agreed to help increase flights between the countries.
