Uzbekistan Airways to buy Czech aircraft LET L-410

On June 15, Uzbekistan Airways signed an agreement with the Czech LET Aircraft Industries on purchase of LET L-410 turboprop aircraft, the airline reported.

These aircraft are being purchased in order to increase the number on domestic flights for the transport of small groups of passengers, as well as for the development of domestic tourism in Uzbekistan.

These aircraft will be used on ultra-short runways and will expand the destinations network within Uzbekistan to such cities as Sokh, Zarafshan, Shakhrisabz, Andijan, and in the future – Zaamin.

Czech LET Aircraft Industries sought the sale of L-410 light aircraft to Uzbekistan at the talks between the Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov in Tashkent in April.
