The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a Resolution “On the wide international celebration of the 1050th anniversary of the great thinker, scientist and encyclopedist Abu Rayhon Beruni”.
According to the Document, the 1050th anniversary of Abu Rayhon Beruni will be widely celebrated in 2022-2023 at the international level under the auspices of UNESCO.
Based on this, planned to establish international tourist routes “Buyuk Beruniy Merosi”, as well as build a complex in the Beruniy district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan by the end of 2023 and restore manuscripts and other cultural values related to the scientific and creative heritage of the scientist.
In addition, a laboratory specializing in the restoration and conservation of cultural heritage sites will be organized in the Karakalpak branch of the Academy of Sciences and the Khorezm Academy of Mamun. The international subject Olympiad named after Abu Rayhon Beruni will be held in the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan.
Also planned to establish an International Award named after Abu Rayhon Beruni.
Based on the Resolution, it will be developed a Special Program “Beruni and Youth” by December and will be created Mobile Application including information about the life of Abu Rayhon Beruni, his scientific and educational works.
In accordance with the document, the complete works of the scientist to will be published in Uzbek, Karakalpak, Russian, English, Arabic and Farsi.
