The co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission between Kazakhstan and Russia met in Moscow. Deputy Prime Ministers Serik Zhumangarin and Alexei Overchuk discussed important issues in the field of transport, including difficulties with the implementation of navigation seals on the border between Russia and Belarus. The press service of the Kazakhstan government writes about the details.

There were problems with transportation as a result of the closure of three checkpoints for transit from Europe through Belarus to Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh side emphasized the problem of the lack of necessary tools for identification of certain types of cargo at the checkpoint “Lobok” in the Pskov region. The Russian side informed about the intentions to equip the checkpoint with a system of installation of equipment for navigation seals and weighing machines by February 1, 2024.

Zhumangarin and Overchuk also discussed the possibility of introducing a discount on the transit of export goods by rail.
