President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokaev received U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who arrived in Astana on official visit.
Welcoming Secretary Blinken, President Tokaev said since establishment of diplomatic relations, Kazakhstan and the United States have built exemplary bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
“Your visit is particularly important in terms of giving impetus to our strategic cooperation. We have very good and reliable long-term partnership relations in such strategic areas as security, energy, trade and investments. This is why we are ready for further development of this cooperation. I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the United States for continuous and firm support of our independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty,” President Tokaev said.
While talking about economic cooperation, President Tokayev said the United States is one of the biggest investors in Kazakhstan with the total volume of more investments of more than $62 billion.
The leader of Kazakhstan welcomed the efforts of the United States on expansion of cooperation in C5+1 format and emphasized importance of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Central Asian countries and the United States in astana.
Secretary Blinken expressed gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokaev for hospitality.
It is important to develop the significant successes achieved for more than 30 years, to deepen and strengthen bilateral partnership, he said.
Secretary Blinken said the United States and Kazakhstan maintain strong relations, which will strengthen further.
Blinken thanked Tokaev and his team for bringing together the Central Asian partners in Astana.
Secretary Blinken highly regarded political and economic transformations in Kazakhstan.
