Kyrgyzstan assumes CIS chair

The chairmanship of the CIS passed from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan for 2023, Report informs.

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, has promised that his country, as the chair of the Commonwealth, will pay special attention to strengthening good neighborliness and trust among member states.

The decision regarding Bishkek’s chairmanship was made at the CIS summit in Astana on October 14, 2022. Russia and Kazakhstan will be co-chairs. Earlier, Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev noted that Kyrgyzstan was ready to chair the organization.
