Creation of Kyrgyz-Turkmen Fund discussed in Bishkek

The sides discussed issues of creating a joint Kyrgyz-Turkmen Fund, as well as interaction in the transport, logistics, cultural and humanitarian fields.

Bishkek, Nov. 6, 2021 / Kabar /. Within the framework of the First European Union – Central Asia Economic Forum, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Chary Gylydzhov, reported Kabar agency with the reference to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

It is noted that Akylbek Zhaparov expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for participating in the work of the economic forum and stressed that Turkmenistan is considered as an important economic partner of the country in Central Asia.

“I am pleased to note the wide potential of mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas, including in the field of energy and transport. The Kyrgyz Republic is always open for cooperation with investors from Turkmenistan and joint efforts to increase mutual trade,” Akylbek Zhaparov said.

The Turkmen side noted the significant role of the visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkmenistan this year in giving a new and qualitative impetus to Kyrgyz-Turkmen cooperation and strengthening the fraternal ties of friendship between the two peoples.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the observed growth in trade indicators between the countries, which indicates the existing potential to increase mutual trade.

In the context of energy cooperation, Akylbek Zhaparov noted the importance of the ongoing supplies of Turkmen electricity to the Kyrgyz Republic, along with the prospects for the supply of Turkmen natural gas.

In addition, within the framework of the agenda of the talks, the sides discussed issues of creating a joint Kyrgyz-Turkmen Fund, as well as interaction in the transport, logistics, cultural and humanitarian fields.
