A meeting of the heads of MFA of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan was held

On the 15th of July a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

Discussing the priority directions of the bilateral agenda, ministers have touched the issue of collaboration in the framework of the regional and international organizations. The mutual support of the initiatives of the two states on the comprehensive platforms was underlined.

During the meeting the sides have discussed the organization of the high level visits of the high-level representatives of the two countries. The efficiency of the mechanism of partnerships in the form of the political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two states regarding the promotion of the issues directed at strengthening and developing the bilateral relations was especially highlighted.

Ascertaining the increasing pace of bilateral Turkmen-Tajik relations, Ministers have also reviewed trade and economic collaboration, cooperation in the spheres of transport, agriculture, water resources and other priority directions. Ministers also considered the expansion of the interaction of the two countries in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Regional cooperation in the sphere of security and counteraction to modern challenges and threats has become a separate topic of discussions. In the given context the significance of consolidation of the two states directed at maintaining the political stability in the neighboring Afghanistan was stressed.
