4th Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States kicks off in Kyrgyzstan

The leaders of five Central Asian states; Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan attend the meeting at the Cholpon-Ata resort town on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul.

According to Radio Liberty, this year’s summit is “very important” for Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, all of which have seen social unrest in the past two years, as well as Turkmenistan.

The first Central Asia summit took place in March 2018.
