Serbia said Sunday that its embassy in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv was evacuated back in March, refuting reports by a number of media outlets that the embassy was suspending its activities and evacuating employees for security reasons.
“Regarding the information published by certain media today that the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Ukraine was temporarily closed, we would like to remind that the news is from March and that there have been no changes since,” Serbia’s Foreign Ministry said in a Twitter post.
The ministry also shared the link of its statement issued on March 3 regarding the temporary closure of the embassy following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24.
