Montenegro’s Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic said Wednesday that his visit to Belgrade is “turning a new leaf” in relations between Serbia and Montenegro and that it is unnatural for there to be any “noise in communication”, Fonet reported.
This visit starts a new cycle which means that we are ready to approach all open issues in a highly responsible manner and for the benefit both countries’ citizens, Abazovoc told a joint media conference following his meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
Abazovic said he and Brnabic also addressed some topics that are not economy-related and thanked Brnabic for the fact that time has come when some things should be overcome for mutual benefit.
Abazovic said there were no major issues in relations between the two countries that cannot be resolved and added that he “feels good will”.
Brnabic told the media conference that she hopes Abazovic’s visit will be a step towards “resetting” relations between the two countries and entering an era of good, the best possible relations.
“We have no one closer, politically or economically, or when it comes to people, we are connected by all kinds of relations, and somehow many open and difficult issues have piled up,” said Brnabic, adding that Serbia is open to resolving them and to improving relations with Montenegro.
Brnabic said she discussed with Abazovic food, energy and infrastructure.
“As long as we have food our partners and friends in the region will have food, and Serbia has enough food,” she said and added that “there is great potential for cooperation” in the field of energy sources.
