Afghanistan: US soldiers tie barcode wristbands to people to be evacuated

KABUL, AFGAHISTAN – AUGUST 23: After the Taliban’s rapid takeover of Afghanistan, the evacuation efforts have continued at Hamid Karzai International Airport on Monday, Aug. 23.

After the Taliban announced that the deadline for evacuation is August 31, the evacuation operations at the airport accelerated.

The US, which has been working hard to evacuate its citizens working in Afghanistan and Afghans working for the American army, has taken some precautions to avoid disorder in the evacuation process.

US soldiers tied barcode wristbands to people to be evacuated at the airport.

Wristbands are scanned and saved in the system before boarding the plane.

US President Joe Biden had announced that 28,000 people have been evacuated from Kabul since August 14.
