China will cooperate with Russia to stand against hegemonism in the world, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Friday in a statement following his virtual meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, APA reports citing Teletrader.
“China is willing to work with Russia and all progressive forces in the world that oppose hegemonism and power politics, oppose any unilateralism, protectionism, and bullying, and firmly defend the sovereignty, security, development interests, and international fairness and justice of the two countries,” according to the statement.
Beijing stressed that the comprehensive strategic partnership with Moscow has become “more mature and tenacious” in the new era, with energy cooperation further playing the role of “ballast stone.”
