NATO Secretary General: Russia wants to buy time to regroup

Russia hopes to freeze the war against Ukraine and is not looking for peace, but wants to buy time to regroup and prepare for a new offensive, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.

Report informs citing RBC-Ukraine that he noted that in recent months, more than 200,000 additional military personnel have been mobilized in Russia and have demonstrated their readiness to bear a large number of losses.

“They are looking to get more arms and ammunition from other authoritarian regimes like Iran. Russia is hoping to freeze the war in order to allow its forces to regroup, rearm and try to start a new offensive,” Stoltenberg said.
