Hungary calls for Ukraine’s early accession to EU

Adviser to Hungarian Prime Minister Balázs Orban said that Hungary stands for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

Report informs citing Gazeta.ru that Orban said the authorities hope this will happen “as soon as possible” and that EU member states need to put pressure on the European Commission to speed up this process.

At the same time, the adviser indicated that Budapest does not intend to abandon relations with Russia and “separate from each other.” Orban noted that Hungary’s position is based on the idea of maintaining ties.
