China’s FM to start Africa tour tomorrow

China’s new foreign minister, Qin Gang, is going on a tour of Africa from January 9, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, Report informs via TASS.

It is Qin Gang’s first foreign visit.

The ministry noted that this visit is a manifestation of the value China attaches to traditional friendly relations with African countries.

The visit, which will last until January 16, will cover Ethiopia, Gabon, Angola, Egypt and Benin, Qin Gang will meet with the foreign ministers of African countries and will also visit the headquarters of the African Union and the League of Arab States.

Qin Gang was appointed to this position on December 30, 2022.
