Australia’s PM seeks meeting with Xi

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said his long-sought meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping has not been “locked in” yet, but that a face-to-face with Xi would be a “positive thing”, APA reports citing Teletrader.

“I have made it very clear that dialogue is a good thing, and so if a meeting is arranged with Xi Jinping, that would be a positive thing,” he told the media, adding that his government will make an announcement “if and when” the meetings is agreed on.

The news comes after Beijing said both China and Australia should address each other’s concerns and work on rebuilding their bilateral relations.
