22 Chinese sailors rescued from South Korean waters

Fishing vessel sank after colliding with rock, says Coast Guard.

ANKARA (AA) – Twenty-two Chinese sailors were rescued on Friday after their fishing boat sank in South Korea’s southern waters, the Coast Guard said.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the 1,000-ton Chinese vessel sank after collision with a rock.

The South Korean Coast Guard dispatched its team after Chinese authorities alerted them of the incident after receiving a distress call from the boat.

The Coast Guard said that all the crew members have been safely evacuated and shifted to a secure place.
