Political consultations between Turkmenistan and Iran were held in Tehran. During the meeting, the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and regional cooperation issues were discussed. According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the talks aimed to take new steps in the fields of trade, energy, transportation and cultural cooperation. Iranian Foreign Ministry officials said that mutual commitments were renewed to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries and implement joint projects. They also exchanged views on international and regional issues. Turkmenistan’s delegation noted that the consultations took place in a positive atmosphere and future cooperation opportunities will be discussed. Similar meetings are planned to be held regularly to further develop relations between the two countries.
