by ANKASAM Ekip

The Third Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held on February 17-18, 2025 in Tehran, Iran, will bring together the prime ministers and ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Russia and Iran to discuss issues such as economic, trade, scientific and technical cooperation, health, energy, finance, tourism and investment in free trade zones. Logistics and infrastructure developments in the Caspian Sea will also be on the forum’s agenda.

An important highlight of the forum will be the signing of the final declaration, which will further consolidate cooperation among the Caspian littoral states. According to Akbar Gudari, Director General of the Central Asia Department of the Iran Trade Development Organization, the forum will highlight the progress made in regional cooperation, especially since the adoption of the legal status of the Caspian Sea in 2018. While the Caspian Sea, with its rich energy resources, plays an important role in global energy security, the region’s political and economic importance has grown significantly in the 21st century. Efforts to create a legal framework aimed at strengthening cooperation among the Caspian littoral states further increase the importance of these forums. The forum is notable not only for its economic benefits, but also for its impact on regional stability and global security. Regional integration is critical for long-term sustainable development and peace. Increased cooperation among the Caspian countries will promote regional stability, support economic growth and help address common security concerns.
