Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan Avazbek Atakhanov and Pakistani businessmen agreed on the establishment of the Kyrgyzstan-Pakistan Business Council. This initiative is seen as an important step to increase bilateral trade volume and create new investment opportunities.
The decision was taken after talks between officials from Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan. The talks focused on increasing cooperation, especially in the areas of trade, investment, agriculture, energy and transportation. The Business Council is expected to facilitate trade relations by establishing direct links between the business communities of the two countries. Kyrgyz officials stated that this initiative will strengthen economic ties between the two countries and increase trade volume. The Pakistani side, for its part, said that trade and investment relations with Kyrgyzstan will strengthen regional economic integration. The establishment of the Business Council will also contribute to Kyrgyzstan’s goal of becoming a trade center in the Central Asian region. Pakistan, on the other hand, aims to further strengthen its position in large-scale projects such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
