Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Asein Isaev and Ambassador of Switzerland to Kyrgyzstan Olivier Bangerter met to discuss bilateral cooperation issues. The meeting focused on the development of existing relations between the two countries and exploring new areas of cooperation.
Concrete steps to deepen cooperation in the political, economic, trade and cultural spheres were discussed. Ambassador of Switzerland Bangerter emphasized Kyrgyzstan’s support for regional stability and development efforts and called for further strengthening of relations between the two countries. Deputy Foreign Minister Isaev expressed his satisfaction with the technical and financial support provided by Switzerland to Kyrgyzstan. Stating that cooperation should be increased especially in the fields of education, health, agriculture and energy, Isaev emphasized that the trade volume between the two countries should also be increased. Mutual support in international platforms and regional security issues were also discussed during the meeting. The sides agreed to take steps towards future high-level visits and the signing of bilateral agreements. Switzerland is an important development partner of Kyrgyzstan, taking part in various projects aimed at achieving the country’s sustainable development goals. These meetings between the two countries are promising for further expansion of existing cooperation.
